NavstarGPS.US L1IFStream | USB L1 Band RF Front End
Stream Digitized L1 Band IF Data Directly to Your PC
Stream Digitized L1 Band IF Data Directly to Your PC
L1IFStream is an open-architecture USB Satellite Navigation RF front end (RFE) designed for software-defined receiver development, signal processing, and RF experimentation.
L1IFStream combines the Analog Devices MAX2769B receiver IC with an FTDI FT2232H high-speed bridge to stream digitized L1 IF data directly to a PC.
No firmware flashing or register configuration is required out of the box. Connect the front end to your computer and access the L1 IF data directly within your software-defined radio or DSP environment.
The L1IFStream is a dedicated USB RFE engineered for exploring and decoding L1 navigation satellite signals. Built around the industry-standard Maxim (Analog Devices) MAX2769B receiver IC and an FTDI FT2232H high-speed bridge, the board converts incoming RF into a digitized FIFO stream over USB.
With zero initial programming required, developers, researchers, and students can begin capturing real-time GPS L1 data out of the box.

L1IFStream is designed for engineers, researchers, educators, and students working with GPS/GNSS signals, software-defined radios, RF signal processing, and GNSS receiver development.
Core Capabilities & Architecture
Plug-and-Play Stream: In its default configuration, the board requires no registers to write or firmware to flash--plug into USB and immediately capture useful IF data.
Direct FIFO Over USB: The onboard FTDI FT2232H high-speed bridge streams digitized IF data directly into PC software (such as GNSS-SDR, MATLAB, or custom Python pipelines).
Flexible Antenna Input: Full hardware support for both active (with onboard bias-T / antenna power) and passive antenna setups.
Hardware Reconfigurability: Critical hardware parameters can be customized without changing code via accessible on-board configuration jumper resistors.
